adit cosim

Dear All :
Does anyone know what's adit tools , what's different with hsim ?
and what's the performace of this tools . Thanks

adit simulator

I don't know what is hsim. Adit is a transistor level simulator. To speed up simulation time it recalculate nonlinear model equation to piecewise linear model. After that simulation goes very fast. But model recalculation take quite a lot of time. I compared with spectre - total time for Adit little more than for spectre. But the fact is that when you start your simulation second time with small modification, model recalculation doesn't take any time. If you change size of any transistor it can recalculate model and create piecewise model only for this new size, if that not exist yet. In this case total simulation time will be much faster than spectre.

hsim assign

ADiT stands for AAnalog and DDiigital TTurbo Simulator, a product of EverCAD. Very similar to HSPICE, with TURBO option for faster simulation.

adit co-sim

adit can run with the full compatibility to HSPICE but with fast speed.
the other simulator always need you to set options...options to get
reliable results, but adit don't need these, and get a resonable results.

hsim s-parameter

Hi

I ever use hsim , aditspice sbtspice ...starsim , nanosim

aditspice (old company called SBTspice but then create a new company
evercad )

hsim , starsimXT (will not support by synopsys)
adit all these tool is Tx/switch level tools ..

if you want to run accuracy , you can assign it but hsim/adit will very slow

hsim not support verilog , use v2s convert RTL gate netlist to spice format, but aditspice support verilog ..

nanosim also support verilog RTL (but it work with VCS )

for large chip simulation we can use adit or hsim ..
which is best ?? I am not sure , but RAM/DRAM Rd usually use hsim

aditspice is cheaper than hsim .. I think maybe you can use aditspice

adit spectre

Here is the list of ADiT tools

ADiT-SPICE: Spice like simulator for accuracy
ADiT-Turbo: fast-timing simulator for speed
ADiT-MOT: macro simulator for huge capacity (ie. mainly for RAMs)
ADiT-VPI: links ADiT to VCS,Verilog-XL, NC-Sim and Modelsim for cosim
ADiT-FLI: links ADiT to Modelsim for cosim
ADiT-HDL: hdl solver, can be use with ADiT-Turbo for mixed signal co-sim
ADiT-AMS: verilog-A ams

I think XGATE thing is gone or renamed to something else..
The new thing I saw was their S-parameter modeling support for high speed (Ghz) I/O simulation. It remind me of Apache's NSPICE..
I think NSPICE is pretty kewl.. So I wonder how ADiT's S-parameter modeling will measure up to Apache's NSPICE.
