SMPS dead time

hi,

Does anybody knows what is the design criteria for the DEAD TIME in a design like this

mod note said:
do not hotlink files here

It is based on the MOSFET parameters?

is this rigth: td(off) + td(fall)= DEAD TIME

(td(off) and td(fall ) must to be selected from datasheets?

Thanks for any suggestions

Re: SMPS dead time

Hi!

You should add to specifications parameters the time when Ugs goes from zero to threshold voltage (at turning on) and from Vcc to Miller plato voltage (at turning off). You can see more about it in 2001 Unitrode Design Seminares.

Re: SMPS dead time

You can use Resistor, diode, and capcitor(EXT or miller) to design dead time, diode use to fast one director charge, and another director use resistor and capcitor to make dead time.
this dead time depended on value of capcitor ,resistor, off voltage of mosfet.

look it!
