what is loading?

hi all.
can anyboady tell what the bit loading and power loading mean in communication system, they often appear in OFDM or MIMO sytem
thans in advance!

what is loading means

Loading is a power allocation concept for parallel channels. OFDM system can be understand to be a system with a lof of parallel and independent channel. Each channel may have different signal gain.

Loading algorithm is trying to find the optimum transmitter power for each channels in the condition that the total input energy of all the channels remain the same.

This is not only for OFDM also seen in close loop MIMO

The optimum load method is also known as water-filling method.
