what does it mean by " DC / RELAY " & " AC/DC/RLY "?

I have seen it written on a PLC module.

thanks in advance

Usually notification of plc output module connection type : can be as
relay, RLY >> relay contact output __used for AC or DC
DC >> direct current output = transistor or relay contact __ used only for DC
AC >> alternate current output = triac or relay contact __ used only for AC
AC / DC >> usually means relay contact __ used for AC or DC

In addition to dc output circuit must check whether it is a source or sink type
(Must check in case wiring inputs too )

example

what does it mean by " relay contact output " , " transistor or relay contact output " & " triac or relay contact " ?

Does it mean the output is sourcing from relay or reaching (input) to the relay ?
Does it mean the output is sourcing from transistors or reaching (input) to the transistors ?
Does it mean the output is sourcing from triac or reaching (input) to the triac ?

thanks

Relay contact output means There is a relay contact giving output. It can be AC or DC.
DC means the output is coming from a Transistor inside the PLC, will be DC only.
DC/AC means the output is controlled by a TRIAC inside the PLC, it can be AC.
As shown here in the images:

Hope it makes bit clear.

thanks a lot for your reply , its great to hear from you

As you stated :
" DC/AC means the output is controlled by a TRIAC inside the PLC, it can be AC " is it right ? means did you mistakenly write DC/AC in place of AC ..........

OR

Should it have been like that :

" AC means the output is controlled by a TRIAC inside the PLC, it can be AC " ,

you have stated it right or i stated it right ?

thanks

Hi,
In the case of DC it will still work but to turn off the OUTPUT we have to disconnect the power source otherwise it will remain ON. This is possible in special cases. Normally it is AC.
