What do letters stand for in ICs like AT89C52?

hi to all

somewhere we have found in ic like AT89C52, AT89F52...in which what is AT?...

what is C?...What is F?...

anyone has more component short name like this?..

C denote CMOS
and
F denote Flash (microcontroller memory ROM type)

What is the purpose of you having a name? Think of it.

The same for each particular IC in the list of every manufacturer.

Hello
OK C means that you have only one chance to program your MCU and ofcourse that must be your final okayed version of your program but in F series you can erase your MCU thousands of times and reprogram it.

dats not true......
C does not mean a single chance... i have erased my AT89c51 and reprogrammed several times.. mean its not OTP..:D
