Dear all, can you help me with this?

I have a remote sensor network, and my task is to link this network via a satellite link
using a base station, the motes are using ZigBee/IEEE 802.15.4.

My question is, where to start, how can I start designing the base station, what components to use ?

Please help me :)

I know, as a beginning, I wanted to know what are the components that I should be looking for in case I used the ZigBee in the motes ?
Is there a reference on how to design and interface the architecture of the Base station ?
