Hi all

Can some help me to know what are gsm spec.
e.g.

BTS TRX power

How many channels are allocated to each operator

link budget etc..

Dear paramsam,

there is too difficult to determine a clear and constant specs for GSM or any othe comm. system. But there are a general specs that could be mentioned as:
- the up/down link band is about 25 MHz (bands are 800, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
- the GSM channel BW is 200 KHz (that means we have about 125 carrier for each link)
- the GSM uses vocoders with rates about 13Kbps for speech coding
- the transmitted power is a function of capacity and coverage
- GSM uses GMSK Mod. tech in air interface


And you may see many other general specs but there will be another parameters that depend on the planning, capacity, coverage and the services of the network itself.

hi,

BTS power is -100 dbm for GSM 900 & arround -102 dbm for gsm 1800

remember this is transmitting power of the bts...

& voltage requiered for run bts is -48 volts given by rectifier(DC)...

aslo,
link budget means perameter requiered to take in count to create 1 mictowave link its equation is given by...

PRX=PTX+GTX+GRX-LTX-LFS-LM-LRX

P=POWER
TX=TRANSMITING
RX=RECEIVING
G=GAIN
L=LOSS
FS=FREESPACE
M=MISSALINIOUS

THIS ALL THING HAS TO COUNT TO CRATE LINK BUDGET.....


& GSM SPECIFICATION IS

200 KHZ CHANNEL
31 CHANNEL IS GIVEN TO EACH OPERATOR
270.833 KBPS DATA RATE
EACH BSC HAS MAXIMUM 660 TRX
1 BTS HAS MAXIMUM 12 TRX
EACH TRX CAN HANDLE MAXIMUM 8 CALL
SO TOTAL CALL HANDLE BY 1 BSC IS 660*8=5280 (IDEAL)
