Routing topologies refers to the connection you make in pcb, there are dissrent kind of routing topologies, like daisy chine, multi drop & start topologies.
You need the subject knowledge to decide topology. Also if anything specific, your circuit design engineer should pass the information.
You may follow daisy chin in case of single or double side PCB that is non critical.
for power electronics you need to connect all grounds at the source to avoid loop current.
If you are routing clock signal in high speed boards you can't use daisy chine as it may add delay if there are lot of connections, here you need to folloe star or multidrop.
There r different types of topologies like Daisy chain, star, remote star, H-shape and user can also create his own topologies.
Topologies r nothing but how u place different components on the PCB and route them so that the signal reaches its destination without any loss and the circuit behave properly.
One topology might work for one net but may not be good for other.
It is very helpful if u do pre-route analysis of ur board so that u can find out which topology gives better result for ur signal.
