what are the link layer protocols that involve in communication of LAN; that is the communication between my computer, rooter and another computer connected to the same rooter. how can i study them.

Hi Sagar,

If you are wanting to study these protocols, I would recommend that you go and look at the RFC's from the Internet Engineering Taskforce. The RFC that you require to get you started would be RFC1122.

RFC 1122 - Requirements for Internet Hosts - Communication Layers

These documents outline all the information that you require about the protocols and also link you to the newer protocols if there are any.

Best of luck with your studies.

Stolzie
