Want to install and use Fedora Electronic Lab (FEL)

Hi,

I want to install and use the Fedora Electronic Lab (FEL) but dont know how exactly to do that??

I am not a software expert and have no experience, whatsoever, with installing any kind of OS.

I have never used any OS other than Windows.

I have went through their installation instructions several times, but am still clueless, directionless, and completely fed up.

Can anyone please give me clear instructions in simpler language/steps? It will be a great help.
Do I need to format my computer in order to install Fedora? I dont want to lose any of my data or software on Windows.
Is the FEL really worth it? I really want to try opensource EDA tools but dont know how good / bad they are.

Yes. You can have dual boot system. But you need to allocate a partition to place the Fedora. I think there are some free tools can be used to partition hard drive in windows. Try look at this link: https://www.howtoforge.com/unetbootin_windows_ubuntu_fedora
