[SOLVED] Voltage balancing resistors for series capacitors

I have ordered some new film caps with the intent of reducing the number of turns. See what happens.
Interesting idea Frank. Do you think making it into a hermoltz coil would improve the field strength?

It would seem that Helmholzt coils are fed with DC to offset the earths magnetic field. The two coils are in series which for your application will increase the inductance. What I was suggesting was that if your coil was wound with 42 core on your litz then 84 cores would decrease the resistance and so increase the Q. As you already have N turns of your Litz, I suggest that you wind on another N turns and place the second coil in parallel with the first.
