Hi running IC610 (Feb 2010 Hotfix version )

I can run Virtuoso and it opens a GUI but when I click on library manager, I get

Code:

Oh sorry for the repeat but thank you for searching it for me ! appreciate it :)

In my case also, Update version works fine( reinstalled using latest update version) but hotfix version. So, now I am good.

EDIT,

one more thing I observed while using update version is many libraries I found missing in Hotfix were present in Update version..as I mentioned in my this post here , there for having only ic610/tools/lib in LD_LIBRARY_PATH helped here.

Just thought my post here might help someone save some time in future.. Thanks.

i knew the post because I get the same problem, but since my university uses fedora10 we don't get support from cadence. can you go over what you did differently the second time you installed ic6? did you install the base/update/hotfix in a certain order? our version currently is IC6.1.3.500.16

To answer your question,

I downloaded latest Update Packages from Cadence site but using a browser then unzipped them and installed using ISCAPE.

This virtuoso worked fine and subversion is

Code:
> ##virtuoso -W
> sub-version IC6.1.4.485

Here is another update,

This will sound strange,

This morning, I retried the Hotfix installation again , this time I chose same Hotfix version as in my first attempt (and it is also the latest hotfix). I did everything like first attempt and got it both downloaded and installed through iscape only and guess what now it works fine, no library errors when I start virtuoso and no crash when I open library manager.
Difference between first install and second is I found that all missing libraries got installed in 2nd hotfix install attempt..strange huh!

Subversion is now,
virtuoso -W
Code:
sub-version IC6.1.4.500.1

Btw, if your university does not want to pay money for Redhat OS, you can suggest and force university to use Centos atleast..It works fine..

thanks. we still use IC613 as our foundry does not officially support 614 yet, we are waiting till the next PDK patch to upgrade.

yes we have been planning to install centos for several weeks now to see if this resolves the issue, i just have to keep bothering my admin to do it.
