video processing on fpga

Hi all,

I've to develop an application in which i should mux
an ITU656 input and I2S input, and output an HDMI

The following component is very nice for what i should do

hxxp://www.nxp.com/acrobat/datasheets/TDA9989_2.pdf

but it costs a lot and I just need ITU656 + I2S muxing.

I would like to implement this stuff in A ctel FPGA.

Can anyone help me, please or give some advice from which to start
for this?

Thanks in advance

to implement hdmi use the specification it is clear can be dowanloaded from
hdmi.org

Hi Booleano,
Your problems are many if you want to implement an HDMI transmitter inside and FPGA. It is extremely complicated and you need an external PHY (serializer) to convert the data to the 2.4GHz serial data that the HDMI supports.

I have done this in an FPGA but it was only supporting the low-end of the HDMI standard. You can look into the Xilinx Spartan 3A that has an internal HDMI driver IO which supports up to 720p.
