I am trying to use the USB port in my ml501 (vertex 5). I know how to send data through USB port, but I am not sure how to receive it. How can I identify USB ports in the USB drive on the board to connect FPGA to them.

yeah man i am also searching for the same problem...i actually want to transfer data from one USB flash to second USB flash on vertex 5 ... i have no idea how to implement this if anyone knows something about it please tell..

You will have to use softcore microcontroller inside. Check the available examples for Your chosen softcpu.
