i want to do usb in the pic18f4550.Actually i have some doubt in it

* do we want to buy vid and pid from the usb implementer's forum ?
* could we assign serial numbers for it ?
if anybody have done usb projects in the pic18f4550 means please guide me, i need help . thank you

Many vendors of USB interface devices have VID sublicense service/agreements, Microchip is one such company:
