Is it the same? Can replace the function of a same ohm rating?
What is the difference?

could also be a capacitor, do you have a photo ??..

Sorry for the lousy picture. I hope it helps.

The trimmer number is:
89PR500 0142 MEXICO

Hi, They are variable resistors ! OK, the type on the left is a 15 turns type and the type on the right is a normal type, could be LOG if it is for audio (volume control) !!

The type on the left you can replace ONLY with a 15 turns type and NOT with the type on the right !!.

regards,

Paul.

Sure you can... but you won't get anywhere near the precision of a 15-turn with a common 3/4 turn (on the right). Or the other way round: you'll always be spending your time turning the small screw if you use it for volume control !

I would want to replace the 500ohm trim pot (on the right) with the one on the left?
Can i use a 500 ohm trimmer? I am using it for voltage adjusting application only...

By all means you can ..

After all, a resistor is just a resitor, and it can be replaced by any other resistor ..

IanP
