Hello,

Things to be considered (not ordered by importance):
1. Speed
2. On-Chip ram&rom for your code
3. If portable, power dissipation
4. Costs
5. Periphery ability(AD,DA,IO...)

Cheers,
Davy

Re: Things to be considered before selecting a microcontroll

I would like to add :
6 - Supporting tools ( Assembler , C compiler , simulators , ... )
7 - allowed security features ( if u like to protect your firmware )
8 - I/O count
9 - If u r to build your system to be based on an operating system , check avialabillity of RTOS (Real Time Operating System) for your architecture.

I belive that is all ,
