Hello,

Our mechanical engineers want me to send them a step file of a cadstar PCB layout.
I do this but they tell me the PCB is just 1mm thick and its not the right one.

so, in cadstar, how can i tell what is the thickness of a pcb?

(someone else drew out this PCB)

Not sure if it can be done in cadstar.

Usually PCB thickness is stated at the point on order of the PCBs (usually 2 layer boards are 1.6mm thick).

Try looking in Settings > Layers in PCB Design Editor, there is a Thickness column in there.

As Rob says.
In settings layers.
make yourself a construction layer with FR4 material and give it a thickness that brings it up to 1.6mm.
Your copper layers will be 0.035mm.

How are you making the step file?
Boardmodeller?
