Upconvertor mixer

Hi,

I am designing a upconvertor mixer. I want to know whwther IIP3 specification for a upconvertor mixer is important ?

If it is important how to determine what value is required for a upconvertor mixer and if possible please give me some links for a upconvertor mixer thesis.

Also, can somebody give me typical values of IIP3 for a upconvertor mixer?

Regards,
Prakash.

Re: Upconvertor mixer

Linearity is very important for an up converter, compared to the Noise figure, since the signal at the transmitter is produced directly from the DAC, hence IIP3 or more significantly OIP3 point is very important, do two tome test to determine this point.

Re: Upconvertor mixer

Typically, IIP3 is about 3 dB above LO drive for microwave mixer.
For low frequency mixer, operating in the range of 10MHz to 1000MHz, the IIP3 is higher.

What frequency range you're working on?
