The difference between rc5 code with sat1 and sat2

hi
i have make a project of 10 channel infrared control using pic 16f84 published on silicon chip
and the problem is that accourding to the article it use rc5 code with sat1 and sat2
so i first i am facing problem to find right remote for it
and please guide to understand the difference in rc5 code
can i use the rc5 remot of tv in this project or can i cahnge the sat 1 format to tv format and how
