Hi! I just want to ask, is it still possible to use smart phone's torch light to test a fiber cable with around 500m distance?

Hi,

What do you want to test?

Bandwidth? Rise/fall time? Loss? most probably not.

So the only thing you can test: if you can see light at the other end of the cable.
I´d say it depends: If the loss for visible light is low enough you should see something.
But no one knows which diameter, which mode, for which light bandwidth your cable is....

I just want to check the end-to-end connection. The fiber is single mode with wavelength of 1310nm.

You should be able to see the speck of light at the end - but you need to touch the end of the fiber to the phone.
