What chip do you suggest if I want to implement a GSM based project. Athermostat will SMS the room temperature to the user.

GSM network

simply use some mobile interfaced with any controller and controller will be connected to temperature sensor
search forum for mobile interfacing to controller

Re: GSM network

I also work on project "Smart home". I want to send variable status information through mobile phone. can you suggest some links related to this?

thank you.

Re: GSM network

Hi

for such project you don't need a GSM chip
what you need is GSM module or GSM modem

Re: GSM network

Thanks a lot guys

I have already done this project with chipcon's CC2430, now the company wants to expand it to GSM. I am also very new to this topic.

It should be a GSM module. And it is really my choice.

Dear ehsanelahimirza, About the mobile GSM module + micro controller, this seems like a good idea, could you please tell me more about it.
