Hi all, this is my first post here

I have been doing layout design for 13+ years. worked in big and small companys/projects. done analog, rf and cmos design.

3 weeks ago I started with a small company in austin texas. they had no layout team and just a few circut designers.

for layout, schmatic editor we are using tanner 12.0 and are going to be taping out to several chips to tsmc toward the end of this year. the tanner tools work fine except for one problem with extraction..

tanner only gives you cap to sub-stright not to any other layers. this is a big problem for analog design..

so we are currently looking for extraction tools on the cheap. or maybe there is a place that has the tools and sells time on there server?

Thanks for your time

Ron

is my post not clear?

thanks

Typical all big three vendors have that capability in there flow. I know from the past some small vendors. Possible they have much lower prices than e.g. a Calibre n*100k$. I do not know much about pay per run. But it will destroy all existing pricing methods. It will possible come up if run verification as service. Then you can bundle compute nodes (cores or what ever) with the SW.

Try the old survived small companies:

LAYVER: old east germany

DW2000: canadian

Stabie-Soft: OneManShow starting extraction
**broken link removed**

Laker: but I think no extraction

Zeni: what I have seen a DFII clone, but rare use outside china
http://www.hed.com.cn/download/Zeni_Overview.pdf

MyCAD: should have net/net extraction in newer version

Silvaco:

The issue is that the designkit support is on your side. That bias the cost advantage versus the big three. But converters are also in the package. So give a try.
