1- Copy the following files to /tmp/IUS56_Install;
Base_IUS56_lnx86_1of3.tar
Base_IUS56_lnx86_2of3.tar
Base_IUS56_lnx86_3of3.tar
2- Extract these files.They all contribute the following directories to the IUS56_lnx86.Base directory:
CDROM1
CDROM2
CDROM3
3- Open a shell and Set posix compliance by typing "export _POSIX2_VERSION='199209'". If this command is not written before invoking SETUP.SH, errors will pop up during installation related to wrong arguments being passed to the sort function.
4- Run the IUS56_lnx86.Base/CDROM1/SETUP.SH script and follow the instructions below.
5- Specify path of install directory: I used "/cad/IUS56". It will be created if it didn't exist.
6- Do not use InstallScape and select launching Softload instead.
7- In the "Main Menu", select "load available products" which is option#1.
8- Then specify the CDROM1 location as "local" and then its location as "other". Then enter its location.
9- The installation information is specified to be in "Cadence Catalog" which is option#4.
10- All available products are listed. Select all of them and press ENTER. Installation proceeds.
11- In the "Main Menu", select "List Installed Products" which is option#2 and specify the operating system as Linux, to see whether or not all products have been installed correctly.
12- In the "Main Menu", select the "Configure Installed Products" which is option#4.
13- In the "CONFIGURATION INFORMATION MENU", select the "System-level Configuration" which is option#1.
14- Then agree to configure the Stream Manager. Don't change the selecte default directories.
15- The local registry is also setup. Don't change the selecte default directories.
16- Registering stream IUS56
Enter value for CDS_LIC_FILE (required): /cad/licenses/IUS56/license.txt
17- Type IAGREE and press ENTER to agree to the license agreement.
18- In the "Main Menu", select the "quit" option.
Now, the installation has completed and some housekeeping must be made.
Enter the following command at the shell:
ln -s tools.lnx86 tools
This symbolic link removes errors for some libraries that cannot be found.
Then copy the following into your .bashrc file:
