space time coding mimo

Hello dear friends,

Can anyone of u pls send me any file or links from which i can get a very easy to understand introduction to MIMO or Space-time coding.

Thanks to all.

thesis space time coding

I am going to select a topic for my thesis in my university.Pls suggest me one which includes MIMO or Cooperative diversity or layered space-time coding.

I'm doing my post graduate research on cooperative beamforming too. However, my research is still in infancy stage, so i can't offer much technical support as yet.

Here are some papers on cooperative beamforming that might interest you:

Dear suhanya,

I am reading paper
"J. N. Laneman, D. N. C. Tse, andG.W.Wornell, “Cooperative
diversity in wireless networks: efficient protocols and outage
behavior,”

I have some question in System Model,Medium Access section of the paper.
For direct transmission Equation number (1)
first terminal transmits for n=1,....,N/2, and other terminal transmits for n=N/2+1,...,N.

Does it mean that for half of the total given time first terminal transmits and for second half of the time second termainal transmits ???

Equation number (2) and (3) for cooperative diversity,
n=1,...,N/4 for source to relay
n=N/4+1,...,N/2 for relay destination

What does this mean ?
Does it mean that the half of the time which is given to one terminal during direct transmission is further divided into two parts,one of which is given for transmission between source and relay (during which relay relay-destination channel is silent) and the second half is given to relay-destination (during which source-relay channel remains silent). ???

Please explain it bit in detail

Thank you .
