Can fractal antenna simulated by ads software. If can can any one tell me how its done...

It would be good if u can attach any tutorial regarding it.

regards

I think it is possible but you will need ADS with momentum included. I think your main problem would be to generate the fractal shapes.

However, during my research on fractal antennas I used IE3D which gave me rather good results. It also accepts structures in some format called .3DT which can easily be generated from any programming language.

i think ansoft designer can do the same things also. but comparing to ie3d, it's a little weak, the same as ads momentum. fyi

I use matlab to simulate array factor of fractal array. (antenna elements = isotropic source.)
if you simulate fractal array, u can use basic theory to program of simulate it. but your main problem is generate the fractal shapes.

hi polpasee

I think just adding the array factor to the simulation is not very good approximation since the current distribution (and hence the radiation pattern) is disturbed due to the coupling between the elements.

yes you can simulate your fractal antenna by ADS momentum.

you need to sketch the layout ot import if you have the layout now and then modify the default substrtae in momentum and run the simulation and see the antenna pattern, efficiency, matching,..

have any books about antenna degign

I recommend you the book"Antenna theory and design" by Warren L.Stutzman .

You can simulate fractal antenna with SUPERNEC (http://www.supernec.com/) and matlab 6.5 . Many chape of fracatal antenna are predefined yet.

you can simulate fractal antenna with software feko5.1
fractal antenna give multiple band and brodening bandwith.
and software ansoft designer also simulate fractal antenna.
ansoft designer is moment method.

i think ansoft designer is more suitable for fractal antenna that it is easy to make plane wave with freedom in polarization

I don't see why there should be a problem in simulating fractal antenna structures in any 2.5 or 3D simulation software. Its just the current distribution that matters, right? If you setup your simulation right, it should give you good results. I've simulated fractal antennas successfully using HFSS.
Like somebody said, drawing the structure might be a problem but you could autocad to draw the structure and then import it.

i think that low frequency simulation results of vswr by hfss does not qualified. we should use hfss for vswr simulation only for high frequency (over VHF)

u r working with planar structures , then u should search for something like ansoft designer , but would u tell me please what fractal geometry u wanna use in ur work ???

hello peeps, i am working on fractal antennas and i need a software that can help me simulate it properly pls help

i think HFSS is fit.i used it for an koch fractal anteena.

Hey guys,

I need some guidance here regarding Koch island fractal dimension.
How to determine the dimension of a Koch Patch starting from zeroth to second iteration?

Also, to design a rectifier for the fractal antenna, what should in the consideration list?

Thanks.
