Dear all,

Anyone could explain to myself what's the meaning of Setting Time and Peak Time in Control Engineering System.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Thanks & best regards,

This holds good for any field not only control systems....

Settling time : It is the time when any system settles down means without any overshoot or understood into a steady state. The time taken by the system to attain this state is called as Settling time.

Peak Time : It is the time at which the system has highest peak or oscillation.

settling time ----time taken for a system to reach steady state..
peak time-----time needed to reach its maximum value

Settling time - time to reach the steady-state within speicific static error

Settling time is the time required for the system response curve to reach and stay within a range about the final value of size specified by absolute percentage of the final value (usually 2% or 5%).

The peak time is the time required for the system response to reach the "first peak" of overshoot.
