serial programming attiny2313 using stk500

stk500 attiny2313

i am programming attiny2313 using stk500 development but i faced a problem.
Can any one explain the steps i should follow to program it?
i will use an external crystal oscillator of 8mhz.how should i set the fuses,clocks and everything.
please help!
