Separating analog signals - help needed

separate two analog combined signals

If i have two analog signals which condition should they fullfill in order to be able the analog receiver to separate them.
 

Separate analog signals

Are the signals transmitted in TDM or FDM? Multiplexer is used for TDM and filters is used for FDM.
