ntap ptap

Hi all,

I'm doing the layout of a D-FF which includes some transmission-gates and nand-gates. And I came up to 2 options in putting the Ntap/Ptap:

1. Each transmission-gate and nand-gate have their own ntap/ptap, then just connect them together to form the D-FF -> consume more area.

2. No ntap/ptap for transmission-gates and nand-gates, after connecting them together to form the D-FF, just put some common ntap/ptap at 2 sides of the D-FF.

So my question is do I have to go with option 1? If I have limited area, can I go with option 2?

Thanks a lot.
