Hi there!

I'm making an autonomous UAV as University final project.

I've been using 89C51 at the start but because of memory issue I switched to 89C52 later.

Now I need a micro-controller with 2 serial ports.

Please refer me a controller from 8051 family that should also be layout compatible to 89C51.

Thnx a lot!!! ;)

Try the DS89C430/450:

hi,

You can try AVR series Atmega162 for two serial port.

V. Prakash

I know AVR is a better option but then I would have to buy a new burner for it as I don't have a universal burner. But is the burning technique for DS89Cxx series is same as 8051? As I saw the layout is same!

To program the DS89C430/450 you don't need special programmer, just a connection to a pc via serial port (or USB/RS232 converter, if your pc doesn't have a serial port) .. see picture below ..
