Rs232 connection............................

I connecting RS232 to PIC 4520.i am using max232 and DB9 connector..i have made connections of pin 2,3 and 5 as TX,Rx and GND.then where the other pins of DB9 to be connected?like do i need to short pin 4 and 6 to GND?:-(
 

No handshaking is required, so 3-wire (2,3 and 5) connection is all what need ..
