Goals:
  • keeping the functionality of the switches on the wall
  • no interference with existing electrical installation
  • operation on any kind of IR remote control
The whole device consists of two parts: control module and executive modules.

Control module:
Signal detection is a 36kHz IR sensor. At the output there is a filter consisting of a resistor and a capacitor and then all that is connected at the clock output of the 4022 system. The outputs of the system are connected to 4 rows of headers, which gives large configuration options. The power supply of the system is taken from the lamp supply (which forces turning on the lamp so it can be controlled via remote control) through the transformerless power supply.

Executive module:
This module is used to turn on and off the device (lamp). It is a simple construction consisting of an optotriac and triac.

Summary:
The whole fits inside the collar that masks the hook for the lamp and electrical connections. Therefore, the system has no housing.
The sensor is derived to the bottom of the lamp because it does not work properly when it protruded from the collar.

Hi Vermes,

I checked through your design and I have the following questions:

1. Why did you use an opto triac in the Executive module used to turn on and off the device (lamp) ?
2. What frequency does the executive module generate ?
3. Did you use any encoding to distinguish on / off ?

Thank you.
