Relay not switching off

once the relay is switched on it wont get turned off. I have measured the voltage on coil in off state and it is somewhere around 8V and dropping to zero i have attached the ckt,



can any one help me out ??

You did not connect the relay coil - at least it is not in your drawing....
--> Use proper coil connection

yes, this is the correct circuit.

To verify the function we need to know both the measured voltages at the micrcontroller for ON and OFF wrt GND.

Add a 100kΩ resistor from the MOSFET gate to ground.
Never leave a MOSFET gate open.
