Hi,

What is the difference between Fault and a Defect ?

Thanks in Advance,
Pavankumar HS

Defects refer to physical malfunction errors like Short-circuited Source/Drain, PG shorts, open interconnects etc.
Faults are modeling defects as logical/timing failures like STUCK at 0/1 fault or STUCK OPEN fault.

Hi nisshith,

So what is the difference b/n STUCK at 0/1 or STUCK OPEN fault.

Thanks

Stuck AT means ur port has either got connected to VDD or GND and STUCK Open means there is break in wire

Thanks for the quick reply,

But Stuck AT also we do for nodes(wires) whether they are connected to VDD or GND rite??

Yes,
why would we check STUCK AT those are supposed to be connected to VDD/VSS.
We do check for all nodes which by mistake got connected to VDD/VSS

Can u please briefly elaborate me the difference between Stuck at and Stuck Open??
Basically im not getting the difference b/n wire and node(port).

stuck-at--->port(or)node(or)wires ?
stuck-open--->wire ?

Stuck AT --> NODE (point where multiple nets/pins are connected) tied to VDD/VSS
STUCK OPEN --> breaks in WIRE
