Reg:SD Card Standard

Dear Sir/Madam,
we are planning to use SD Card in our project to store some real time data using NXP Microcontroller (Inbuilt module). Is it necessary to buy SD standard or license from SD association like CAN or it is open standard like USB,TCP/IP?

Waiting For your Answer,

Thanks & Regards,

You have to pay a fee to access the official standard documents, but I think, card manufacturer manuals, e. g. from SanDisk contain all necessary information. I'm not aware of license fees for using SD Cards in a product.

Yes, It is not open standard

Reg:SD Card Standard

you must pay 1000 bucks to put the SD logo in your final product... even you can get all the info you need to make it works...
