Could someone recommend what type of sensor should I stick on a Plasma TV's screen to see if it's working? I want to detect if it's screen failed (eg.: no light can be seen for 5 mins).

Should I use LDR or phototransistor?

Are there any issues puting a sensor in the corner of a plasma screen? CRT's were very static, could it damage the sensor?

thanks,
Zedman
