I've been looking at the ADXL320(dual axis +/-5g), ADXL322(dual axis +/-2g) and ADXL330(3 axis).

Now, what does the +/-2g/5g means? Acceleration that can be measured? Both are the same price, so =5g should be better?

What is the difference between dual axis & 3 axis? Dual axis only measured the acceleration on a plane and 3 axis also measured up/down acceleration?

What can it be used? Normally it is for balancing robot, right? What's the difference compared with gyroscope? Aren't them the same thing?

ADXL 322 is +/- 2g

Unit of Acceleration is g

For sensing the motion /degration accelerometer is used

Accelerometer produces voltage proportional to instantaneous acceleration

It indicates that it can meaure g value in the range -2 to +2
suppose if requiment is in between this range then u can use this IC

Dual axis means it will measure in both X & Y direction

say for example with your dual axis if u move the accelerometer in positive dirction in x axis u will get +2 if u move in negative direction in y axis u will get -2

if need to measure more than 2g then u have to go for ADXL320
