for example, I want to rename like 100 files name as
orignal_1
orignal_2
...
orignal_100
to
rename_1
rename_2
...
renmae_100

how to write a short C script to do this kind of name change.

really good!!!
solve my problem.

but keypoint what I want is in the original index number should be keeped!
that means.
for example:
orignal_1 should be
only change to
rename_1, should not change to rename_2 or rename_3!!!!
I don't know if this script has this kind of capability?
