Hello,
I m working on Ceiling fan speed control using Triac . Read some stuff on internet.
But I could not understand the selection criteria of PWM. Like what should be considered while selecting any frequency of PWM. And how it is related to Source Input 230VAC/50HZ.

Hi,

PWM and TRIAC don´t work ... as discussed several times in this forum before.
Please do a forum search on "TRIAC PWM"

Ok. So i was mixing things up. Wanted to use PWM since it helps in saving energy.
I read resistive type, capacitor-resistor type dimmers also. If not with Triacs, what type of circuits uses PWM for speed control ?

Hi,

Did you do the forum search? There are threads about fan speed control.

In short:
* you may do power saving with triac as well as with PWM.
* PWM mainly is combined with MOSFET or BJT for DC load (although AC possible)
* triac is for AC loads and needs phase angle control.
