Hi all,
I am planning to fo a VLSI project with 3 others. the basic requirement is to use the TSMC 0.18micron technology and hit a speed of 1.25Ghz.

Kindly suggest some ideas for the project considering that 4 people will be working on it for 2 months.

Thanks in advance,
Lithium

Hi Pinkesh2001,
Domain would be digital logic

Lithium

I think you can design one SER/DES for the serial link...

Many papers for this topic;;;

Is the 1.25G the clock speed?

The logic should be very simple.

1.25GHz with TSMC 18u!!!!
This is very very difficult to achieve... Unless u have registers in between every
1-2 gates.. FOr one of the designs in my company we struggled to attain ~500 Mhz with TSMC 18u. later we decide to move to TSMC 13u Process..

I think not possible .18 for 1.25G. For a 500Mhz clock, to cycle is less than 1ns. The cell delay, the wire delay, it is very easy to over 1ns.
