[SOLVED] Problem with oscilloscope

It is an old oscilloscope made in 70's
The type is crotech 3131

Closeup of the diode I referred to earlier. It looks as though an inner wire vaporized, etching away the coating around the middle. (I'm not saying it is necessarily the cause of your problem.)
The diode just looks like a healthy hermeticallly sealed glass package. It's uncoated, so you see the chip in the center. I guess you're no familiar with the package type.
