Problem with BIOS as blue screen error says to update it

I've blue screen of death problem when i start Net Beans 5. Error code is 0x0000008e (0xc0000005......) In the blue screen, it says to update the bios. I don't know where to find the required driver and how to update.

Hi buts101,

BSODs are very vague error occurencies, it may be "bad" mem or RAM, VGA adapter, CPU etc. however AMI BIOS provided beep code errors, after a warm or cold boot, do you hear any beeping sound?

There no beep sound during booting. The BSOD come when 1. extracting rar split file,2 starting netbeans 5 3. compling project in vc++. Other applications works normally. In the BSOD there is no indication of any system file(*.sys,*.dll)
Plz help me to solve this problem

I've winxp sp2. Ya i have jvm.

I would suspect a bad RAM chip in this case.
try downloading the Microsoft Memtest program, and see what it reports
you can find it here:

you'll need to burn it to a cd, then boot the computer from the cd to test your RAM.

possibly you are only in need to update your 6 years old bios,
to do it you must know the manufacturer, wendor of your mainboard becouse
you may accept update only from manufacturer, with other updates you can
kill your mainboard,

BIOS update??

My BSOD is solved. The problem was due to Outpost Firewall,i uninstalled it and problem was gone. Thank you all u guys from your help
