WELCOME TO EDAboard

while you have mentioned AEC_isp, you did not mention how the hardware is wired. Is it on a pre-designed pcb or general purpose hand wired? most possible errors would be wrong pin numbering on LPT port while wiring-and non provision of ground return and perhaps improper power decoupling -- too high electrolytic or a leaky cap on reset circuitry. copy of the aec-isp literature is attached. perhaps you may be aware of the conditions therein. please have a cross check, however.

download aec_isp.exe

1. Which OS you have on PC?
I used AEC long time ago and I have win98 on that laptop, so everything works fine.
To be honest I never try it on e.g. winXP or other NT OS.

2. Maybe LPT mode (SPP, enhaced mode or so..) can give some result? Try to change it in BIOS.
