can anyone solve this problem ?

the voltage of communication signal S is meausured.however ,the measurement procedure is corrupted by noise resulting in a random measurement with PDF shown in the accompanying diagram.Find the probability that for any particular measurement ,the error will exceed + - 0.75 percent of the correct value if this correct value is 10 volts.

Re: probability question

P(|error|>0.75%)=2*P(s<(10-.75/100))=2*P(s<9.925)=2*0.025*0.025*100/2=2.5*0.025=0.0625

=> P(|error|>0.75%)=0.0625

Re: probability question

thank u my friend but can u give more detail about question?

Re: probability question

when we want that the value of error be exceed than 0.75% it means that
|error|>0.75*s/100 where s=10. hence we only need to find P(|error|>0.75*s/100 )
and it is equal to{P(s>10 + 0.75*10/100 ) +P(s<10 - 0.75*10/100 )} and because the pdf is symetric it is equal to 2*P(s>10 - 0.75*10/100 ).and
P(s>10 -0.75*10/100 ) is equal to integration of pdf from 0 to 10-0.75*10/100 ;
