positioning using gsm and without gps

Not possible as GSM gives you raw data which is very difficult to be mapped / impossible to mapped.

This was raised in the earlier thread also many days back.
 

I saw several articles in this relationship
I know it almost is impossible, but information on the details not provided.
Does anyone in this thing done is that even led to failure?
 

There are several databases contains relationship with GSM CellID with Lat/Lng. Check Google Gears and Android for detail information.
