Hi, I have used this Polyakov mixer and works ok on receive. However I am trying to generate DSB and I can sense no RF out of the mixer when feeding the audio signal at the low end or directly at the LOSC port. Can't this mixer be used that way to generate DSB?

No, cannot be used as a DSB-SC modulator, because cannot reject the carrier.
On receive mode, any single nonlinear component (as a diode or a transistor) can be used as a product detector, by beating two signals (like IF signal and the BFO signal).

How about a classic trifilar transformer but instead of one diode in each transformer arm, to use a set of anti-parallel diodes? Will this be a sub-harmonic DSB-SC mixer?
