pcad dos

Hi all
Problem with P-Cad DOS into P-Cad2002

Have one of our old DOS designs to modify which was laid out in METRIC. (here it comes)

When I PDIF'ed the design in, it came at scale 2.54!!!! (a bit big)

I changed "OPTIONS-CONFIGURE-UNITS" both ways (metric & imperial) and read it in again from a clean sheet, eg straight after starting the program, no other designs open.
No change.

I then tried to change the units in the DOS design only to be told:
"COMPONENTS OR WIRES FOUND: CANNOT SWITCH UNITS"

Question: is there a metric version of OUTPDIF ?...... If not HELP..!!!

If your problem is still actual...

replace in PDF {DBunit "CMM"} by {DBunit "DECIMICRON"} and all will be OK

Thanks for your reply B.G.

When you say "replace in PDF DBunit CMM" What do I actually need to do. Modify the PDF file? if so how? If I double click/open it, it just says "Adobe Reader could not open as it is not a supported file"

cad pdif

Replace file extension pdf on txt, open its any text editor and replace line 24 {DBunit"CMM"} on {DBunit "DECIMICRON"}.
Save and return extension back.

Just in case keep a copy source PDF file :)

p-cad dos versions

Brilliant, it works a treat.

Thanks very much B.G.

While waiting for some feedback on this problem I relaid the board.
It wasn't to much of a problem, was simple and only took about a day. BUT I don't know what other historical horrors await, so solving the problem could save me a lot of heartache in the future.

Thanks again

Russ
