Hi friends,

Can any one please tell me how to get thermal for the via while routing a power SMT pad.

I am using PADS2007 and not getting thermal for power via.

Thanks,
Mohan.

I guess it would be the same as in PADS 5.0.1: go to setup->preferences, select the "thermal" tab, then you can select what sort of pads needs thermals and what pads are flooded (and how many spokes and the spoke width). Note that you need a split/mixed plane assigned to the correct net for PADS to actually place a thermal.

If unsuccessful, you can always make a cutout in the split/mixed plane and then route the spokes manually.

Select copper flood shape or plane area. In property windos select options, now yu can select copper flood over vias or not.

Skywalker.
