Can you explain Why intrinsic gain is more usefull than ro?

He plot gmro vs.vds curve instead of ro vs. vds curve in 'Analog Circuit Design with Submicron Transistors © 2004 B. Boser 25'

zaimang101, please reformulate your question and give us more details.

* You speak about "gain". Which kind of amplifier you are talking of ??
* It would be helpful to explain the meaning of ro. You never should use only symbols without any verbal description.
